Complete design a semi-manual system for emptying container of defective products (canned pet food) identified during the finished product quality inspection process.

Project Description

Project boundary conditions: emptying a fully loaded container (filled with 24 layers) of defective product cans (260 pieces). The container, always of the same dimensions and weight, has a movable steel bottom. Once emptied, the product cans would then be placed in a designated waste bin. The entire container emptying operation would be performed manually, using devices without the use of electricity. LP Solution: An operator positioned on a platform located on the left side of the system lifts the bottom of container by manually operating a hydraulic hand pump, which activates the upward movement of the TRD1000 hydraulic lift platform. This allows the next layer of product to reach the desired height, ready for removal. The operator uses a specially designed hand pusher to drop successive layers of cans, pushing them directly into the waste bin located on the right side of the system. The pushed layers of cans slide freely down a chute with an adjustable angle of inclination. The waste bin is automatically placed in appropriate position after the forklift enters. The ECN1000 system is based on the TRD1000 hydraulic lift, made of AISI 304/1.4301 glass-blasted stainless steel. Platform dimensions: 950x600mm; scissor stroke: 1100mm; closed height: 270mm; total raised height: 1370mm. A type II hydraulic cylinder is used, i.e., the piston rod and all hydraulic connections are made of AISI 316/1.4401 stainless steel. The cylinder tube is sandblasted, coated with an anti-corrosion primer and painted with a two-component polyurethane varnish.

The semi-manual ECN1000 system designed by LOGIPOST fully met all the customer's requirements and is currently in use at the factory.
